Tesco Calling Cards Enter the International Phone Call Market

Tesco has announced its intention to enter the international phone call market with the launch of their global calling cards which offer their customers low-cost calls to over 60 countries.

Home phone users currently have the choice between two main options when calling internationally. They can either use VoIP services such as Skype which uses the internet to carry calls or home phone services such as Virgin Media and TalkTalk.

Tesco calling cards will be sold in all Tesco stores by the end of the year. Calls will be able to be made using landlines, mobile phones or payphones. Tesco says that there are no hidden fees such as rounding up charges or disconnection fees. Although the company has not yet released its tariffs, it is believed that a 30 minute call to India using the Tesco calling card will cost only 64p (2p per minute plus a 4p connection fee).

This service provides a great alternative for customers who do not have a PC or internet connection or who don’t know how to use a computer.
